About

Gary Helps Studio is an integrated design office and cabinet shop located one hour northwest of Toronto in the Mulmur Hills. G.H.S. specializes in residential design, custom cabinetry and furniture with an emphasis on clarity, modesty, and craft.

While Gary Helps often assumes the lead design role on his projects, working directly with the client or homeowner, he also frequently collaborates with other designers, builders and Architects.

Current and recent projects are scattered across the greater Toronto area and throughout the cottage regions of Caledon, Collingwood and Muskoka, as well as the outer islands of Georgian Bay.

Gary Helps studied Fine Arts at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, (B.F.A. ’87), and Architecture at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, (B. Arch ’92). He has been building houses, cabinets and furniture for nearly 20 years.
